Finally, A Little Offense

Ordinarily, I can be counted on to be the cynical bastard who’ll kick anybody in the shins to reinforce my misanthropy, but not today.  The Montana GOP gets a tip ‘o the fedora from me for this move as reported by the Helena IR:

Montana Republicans are asking the Department of Commerce to target Oregon businesses in an advertising blitz that looks to steal jobs and promote Big Sky Country as a friendlier place to do business.

While it’s my opinion that Montana has a long way to go to be business friendly, our fair state is still miles ahead of places such as Oregon, whose politics is dominated by the malleable heartstrings of the Willamette Valley suburbanite along with the city dwelling self-centered styled intellectual.  Sure, we have our share of those, but thankfully we’ve not yet slipped into Bizarro World, as has Oregon.  That’s why this is a drum the Montana GOP needs to keep beating, and hard.  The fellow travelers here in Montana see in the Oregon example a path to victory; the rest of us see the potential to lure away businesses that would rather provide jobs than pay for a bloated bureaucracy.  We have an opportunity here, Governor Schweitzer; what is your priority?
