Suzuki Alto Old vs. New – A Comparison

0 26,653

After six years, Suzuki decided to give the Alto some attention, and after this long wait, they have finally introduced changes to the model. Some of these changes are nice additions, while others may be purely aesthetic, but most are helpful. We should give kudos to Suzuki for thinking about the Alto.

Possible Reason?

There are various reasons why Suzuki has taken this step, and it’s because the market is now flooded with modern cars that offer superb safety features. Even more upper-budget vehicles are now equipped with Level 0 autonomous driving (ADAS). So, it might be the thing that Suzuki thought they should now focus on for basic enhancements in their most popular car, so they don’t just become the Atlas Honda of vehicles.

However, it’s disappointing that even in 2025, the base VX variant still doesn’t offer SRS airbags. That’s a glaring omission when airbags have become standard in most new vehicles, even at the lowest trim. Safety shouldn’t be treated as a luxury.  However, a couple of months ago, one of the company officials told us that Suzuki may discontinue this base variant, and potential reason is, lack of safety features.

The Updates

The upper trims, like the VXR and VXL AGS, are now, have some important updates as they finally come with some basic safety features, making them a bit more justifiable in the 2025 market. Features like ABS and dual airbags—long overdue—are now standard. But as always, Suzuki couldn’t resist the chance to bump up the price tag. Every time they add the bare minimum, they make sure to raise prices accordingly. It’s a predictable move at this point.
