Changan Automobiles is a Chinese automotive brand. The company is a best-selling brand with millions of yearly car sales in China. The automaker entered the Pakistani auto market back in 2018 in partnership with Master Motors Limited with three vehicles: Changan Karvaan, Changan M8, and Changan M9. It has not been long since Changan joined the Pakistani autoforce, but the company has settled in the market and made a name for itself in the local minivan and pickup car sections. Now, Changan Pakistan has introduced an entry-level sedan, the Changan Alsvin, at the price of a JDM (Japanese Domestic Models). Changan Alsvin is a rising star in the Pakistani market.

History of Changan

Changan prides itself as an early leader in the Chinese auto industry. Back home, it is one of the top builders of passenger vehicles, commercial vans and small trucks. In 2018, Master Motors acquired Greenfield status under Pakistan’s first auto policy and introduced Changan in Pakistani auto market. As per auto policy, Master Motors established an assembly plant in Karachi with investment of $100 Million. Master Motors rolled out the first-ever locally assembled Changan vehicle in May 2019. After that, Changan Pakistan added two commercial pickups M8 and M9 to its vehicle lineup. In 2020, the company teased their first sedan for Pakistan, the Changan Alsvin.

Changan Karavan

Kavaan was the first Changan vehicle in Pakistan. It’s a mid-sized family van with a sophisticated signature Changan design. With a 1.0-litre C10 engine with 68 hp and 92 Nm torque coupled with 5-speed manual transmission. The Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MVP) comes with a chrome grill, rear tail-lamps, fog lamps, electric power steering, power windows, and more. Karvaan in Pakistan is available in two variants, Changan Karvaan Base Model 1.0 and Karvaan Plus.

Changan M8

M8 is a Changan pickup truck with excellent fuel coverage. It comes with a powerful 1.0-litre C10 engine with 68 hp and 93 Nm torque and 5-speed manual transmission. The truck has an extensive 8x4.5 ft deck to load all types of cargo. 2 tier headlamp, 13-inch wheels, front fog lamps, and spacious interior are some of its notable features. 

Changan M9

M9 is another Changan pickup truck with bigger cargo capacity than the M8. It is equipped with the same 1.0-litre C10 engine capable of delivering 68 hp and 92 Nm with 5-speed manual transmission. With a 9x5 ft 3-side opening deck, the truck is perfect for all transport needs. 14-inch tubeless wheels, 5-level adjustable projection headlamps, and a Changan signature chrome gill give it an executive appearance.

Changan Alsvin

Alsvin is a Changan sedan, recently launched in the Pakistani market. Master Motors is offering the Alsvin in three variants: 1.3L Manual Comfort, 1.5L Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) Comfort and1.5L DCT Lumiere. 15-inch alloy rims, adjustable halogen headlamps, dual airbags, rear parking camera, and parking sensors are common features in all three variants. The top of the line 1.5L DCT variant will also have a sunroof, cruise control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). There is no official news on the price of Changan Alsvin.  The best part about Alsvin is its price, which is lower than all existing sedans and hatchbacks in Pakistan.
